What are the Canada Savings Bond (CSB) and Canada Premium Bond (CPB)?
The Canada Savings Bond offers guaranteed returns and the option to redeem at any time.
The Canada Premium Bond offers a higher rate of interest at time of issue than the Canada Savings Bond on sale at the same time. The CPB can be redeemed once a year on the anniversary of the issue date and during the 30 days thereafter.

Where can I buy the CSBs and CPBs?
CSBs and CPBs can be purchased at your local CIBC branch.

When can I buy them?
Each year, CSBs and CPBs are available from October through to April 1. For specific issue dates and bond series, visit the Canada Savings Bonds website.

What are the interest rates?
Interest rates are available at your local CIBC branch or on the Canada Savings Bonds website.

What are the interest options?
There are two options:

Regular Interest bond that pays annual interest on the anniversary of the issue date until maturity or early redemption.
Or
Compound Interest bond that automatically reinvests interest annually to help your savings grow even more.

How much can I buy?
Regular Interest bonds are available in denominations of $300, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000.
Compound Interest bonds are available in denominations of $100, $300, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000.
The maximum you can generally own per series is $500,000 per type of registration.
