Sandy Sharman leads CIBC’s People, Culture and Brand team, which is focused on building CIBC’s brand and creating an inclusive and engaged purpose-led team that is building a relationship-oriented bank for a modern world.
Her areas of accountabilities include compensation and benefits, employee relations, policy and governance, talent management, communications and public affairs, marketing and real estate. Sandy and her team are responsible for developing and delivering the Global Human Capital Strategy, designed to challenge conventional thinking, drive business solutions and shape the culture of the bank. She also leads the bank’s global workplace transformation strategy and brand building activities externally.
Sandy began her career in financial services as a teller. She’s a proven business leader with over 30 years of human resources and financial services experience at CIBC and other major financial institutions in both Canada and the U.S.
Sandy assumed the leadership of Human Resources at CIBC in 2014. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Dalhousie University.
