Supporting gender-balanced leadership 

In 2016, CIBC became a signatory of the UK Women in Finance Charter — the first Canadian-headquartered bank to make the pledge. At the end of our 2022 fiscal year, women comprised 38% of our global board-approved roles and 50% of our board. CIBC is on track to achieve its 40% target of women in Board-approved executive roles by 2024.

CIBC was the first Canadian bank to join the Valuable 500 campaign in 2019, dedicated to unlocking the business, social and economic value of people living with disabilities around the world. CIBC has committed to ensuring that by 2024, at least 9% of our workforce in Canada identify as persons with disabilities.
