Amy South is Chief of Staff and leads the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) team, which plays a key role in bringing CIBC’s purpose to life for stakeholders, partnering closely across the bank’s connected team to accelerate and enable the execution of its client-focused strategy. Her areas of accountability include Business Enablement and Governance; Brand, Community, Client Experience; Communications; Corporate Security; Enterprise Real Estate; Infrastructure and Modernization; Procurement and Enterprise Projects and Global Government Relations. She also has oversight for CIBC Mellon.
Amy joined CIBC in 2014 and has held roles across client-facing, administrative and finance functions. She previously served as Executive Vice-President, Office of the CEO and Chief of Staff, and was also Executive Vice-President and CAO of CIBC Capital Markets, Chief Financial Officer for CIBC's functional groups and Head of Investor Relations. Prior to joining CIBC, Amy was Chief Financial Officer for Investor and Treasury Services at Royal Bank of Canada, Chief Financial Officer for ING Real Estate Canada and also spent 17 years in London, New York, and Toronto with Morgan Stanley, holding progressively senior positions in finance, sales and trading.
Amy holds a Chartered Accountant designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in business administration from the University of Toronto.
