Amy South is Executive Vice-President, Office of the CEO and Chief of Staff at CIBC. In this role, she is responsible for the Strategic Client Office, Government Relations, CIBC's economics group and oversight of CIBC Mellon.
Prior to her current role, Amy was Executive Vice-President and Chief Administration Officer of CIBC Capital Markets, where she oversaw a broad range of global operational support activities for the business. Previously, Amy served as Chief Financial Officer for CIBC's functional groups, and was Head of Investor Relations. She also managed the financial operations and planning direction for CIBC Capital Markets and Treasury Finance.
Prior to joining CIBC in 2014, Amy was Chief Financial Officer for Investor and Treasury Services at Royal Bank of Canada. She held the role of Chief Financial Officer for ING Real Estate Canada prior to the sale of the entity in 2010. Before that, she spent 17 years with Morgan Stanley in London, New York and Toronto, holding progressively senior positions in both finance and sales and trading.
Amy holds a Chartered Accountant designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in business administration from the University of Toronto.
