Richard Jardim leads CIBC’s Global Technology, Data and AI team, which is accountable for the bank’s enterprise technology platforms and capabilities globally, including for all Strategic Business Units, as well as overall technology transformation, the Data and AI Office and capabilities, technology architecture, innovation and operations.
Richard and his team work closely with business partners to deliver innovative, resilient technology solutions that enable the bank’s client-focused strategy and connectivity, and drive further modernization, agility and efficiency.
Richard brings extensive technology, data and transformational leadership to his role, and joined CIBC in 2011, most recently serving as Executive Vice-President, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Innovation and Technology. Prior to this, he held several leadership positions, including leading the Enterprise Digital, Process and Innovation teams, as well as leading many of the CTO and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) portfolios including Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Payments, Capital Markets and Risk Technology.
Richard has been a past board member of SKETCH (Community Arts Programs for Street Youth), is currently on the Board of the George Hull Centre for children’s mental health, and is passionate about giving back to the community. He is also a Co-Executive Sponsor for CIBC’s Run for the Cure, which raises key funding for breast cancer and associated research and support services.
Richard has an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Western University, and is a CFA charter holder.
