Eric Belanger leads CIBC’s Wealth Management business in Canada and the U.S., which includes accountability for CIBC Global Asset Management, U.S. Private Wealth, Wood Gundy, Private Banking and Family Office, Investor’s Edge and CIBC Private Investment Council.
Since joining CIBC in 1994, Eric has held senior leadership roles across Global Asset Management and Capital Markets. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice-President and Head of CIBC Global Asset Management, one of Canada’s largest asset managers. Prior to that, Eric led Global Distribution and Global Markets International, Financial Solutions Group, and Retail Solutions Group.
Eric previously served as Co-Chair of CIBC Capital Markets’ Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council and as CIBC’s Chair of the Major Individual Giving Committee for the United Way Campaign. In 2021, Eric was named one of VersaFi’s Champions of Change, which recognizes leaders advancing women in Canada’s financial sector.
Eric holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from HEC Montréal.
