At CIBC, we look for opportunities to invest in initiatives important to our clients and our employees, while enriching our communities. We believe that the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games does just that — it is an enormous opportunity for Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area. It will have a lasting impact on our youth, our communities and our economy.
Through our lead partnership of the Games, we hope to inspire a generation of young athletes, strengthen our communities and leave behind a sustainable legacy for years to come.
Starting on July 10, 2015, more than 10,000 athletes, coaches and officials from 41 countries across the Americas and the Caribbean will arrive in Toronto to compete in 51 sports. The Games will engage more than 20,000 volunteers and are expected to attract up to 250,000 visitors to the region. This will all take place in 16 municipalities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe area.
As Lead Partner, we will be participating in a number of events leading up to the Games, including venue announcements, groundbreaking events, milestone celebrations and cultural events. CIBC’s brand will be associated with 5 key Games venues – The CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletes’ Village, the CIBC Pan Am / Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House, the CIBC Pan Am Park, the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium and the CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium. These venues will serve as a lasting legacy for our communities to use and enjoy, while giving our youth a place where they can train, play, gather and compete.
The Games will have a significant impact on the business community and the economy. Join CIBC in welcoming the Games to Canada and the celebration that will take place in the summer of 2015. Be part of the excitement.
