Access to CIBC Banking Centres

Every banking centre is a part of our commitment to accessibility. We build new banking centres to be accessible from day one, including parking facilities, in-branch ATMs, vestibule access and counter height.

Since 2006, we’ve committed nearly $1 million per year to enhance accessibility of existing banking centres. Projects include installing door operators and ramps, washroom upgrades and site improvements to address parking and other issues.

Audio-access ATMs

At CIBC, our ATMs are designed to be accessible.

With our accessible ATMs, you can plug in your own headphones to hear private audio instructions throughout your transaction.

For most of our ATMs, you can also choose to blank the screen while using the ATM, so others can’t see your information. 

Alternative forms of communication

If you prefer to connect via a messaging platform, use our virtual assistant to answer your banking questions online. If it can’t help, it will transfer you to a Chat Specialist, available 7:00 am to 12:00 am ET on weekdays and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm ET on weekends.

Service animals and support persons

We’re happy to accommodate a support person or service animal when you access our services, whether you choose to visit our premises, schedule a video call, or talk to us over the phone.

Assistive devices

You are welcome to use personal assistive devices while accessing our services or facilities. If a device raises safety concerns or cannot be readily accommodated, we will work with you to explore alternative ways to provide access.

To improve your banking experience, we have seating options available in the lobbies of most banking centres.
