For many years, we’ve managed equity and fixed income portfolios with specific socially responsible investment (SRI) mandates, customized for institutional clients. These mandates have criteria set by a client and may reflect exclusions based on a company’s product involvement, human rights considerations, and carbon intensity to positive and norms based screening.

Partnering to help build a more sustainable global financial system

We became a signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in 2017 to reinforce our commitment to responsible investing for our clients. This commitment guides our approach to managing and monitoring our investment decisions.

We are also a founding member of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, a sustaining member of the Responsible Investment Association (RIA) and a member of the Canadian Bond Investors Association.

Climate change

As a signatory of the RIA’s investor statement on climate change, we recognize that climate change presents a major threat to long-term growth and prosperity, and that there is an urgent need to accelerate the transition towards a net-zero economy.

We’re increasingly evaluating climate-related data to find risks and opportunities related to the impact on our investments. We’re committed to understanding climate change and the transition to a carbon-constrained economy.
