If you’re taking multiple trips in the next year, a CIBC Travel Medical Insurance — Multi-Trip Annual Planⓘ can cover them all. CIBC’s Multi-Trip Annual Plan offers the same medical coverage provided under the CIBC Travel Medical Insurance — Single-Trip Plan. Depending on which coverage option you select, you will be covered under one policy for an unlimited number of trips of up to 8 days or 18 days each, taken within a 365-day period.
A CIBC Travel Medical Insurance — Multi-Trip Annual Plan can be helpful if you face an unexpected medical emergency on a business trip, family vacation or any other getaway during the covered period. It also provides convenient coverage if you’re a frequent flyer who takes last-minute, unplanned trips. Keep in mind that travellers insured under the same policy, don’t have to travel together to be covered.
When you first purchase a CIBC Travel Medical Insurance — Multi-Trip Annual Plan, you can have your plan auto-renew the following year. At renewal, Allianz Global Assistance will contact you regarding the premium amount for the new 12-month term. If the credit card you used when you first applied for coverage is still active, it will be used to pay for your renewal. Choosing to auto-renew your policy can be convenient, especially if you’re a frequent traveller.
If you choose not to auto-renew your policy, you’ll be contacted by mail or email before the expiry date to let you know that you’ll need to re-enroll to maintain your coverage.
Something to note: The CIBC Travel Medical Insurance — Multi-Trip Annual Plan does not include coverage for your pre-paid, non-refundable trip costs, such as deposits for hotel reservations, plane tickets, and planned activities at your destination. If you want to protect those costs for a single trip, you can complement your CIBC Travel Medical Insurance — Multi-Trip Annual Plan by purchasing a CIBC Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Insurance Enhanced Plan.
