Sean Hynes is the Region Head, Private Banking Alberta. Sean has over 25 years of experience in financial services, which includes senior leadership roles in corporate, retail and commercial markets.

Previously, Sean led CIBC’s Commercial Diversified Banking operations based in Calgary, serving private and public companies in Central and Southern Alberta. Having worked with owners and business executives to deliver financial solutions for their corporations, it was a natural transition to move into wealth management to assist these same clients with their personal wealth requirements.

In his current role, Sean is responsible for leading our Private Banking, Private Investment Counsel, Wealth Advisory Solutions and CIBC Trust teams in Alberta. His team delivers tailored, integrated planning solutions that assist high-net-worth clients in growing, preserving and transitioning their wealth from two newly renovated offices in Calgary and Edmonton. Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Dalhousie University. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
