Terms of Use

By accessing CIBC.com and any CIBC controlled web site (“Site”) you acknowledge these terms of use and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please do not access this Site. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify, alter or otherwise update these terms of use at any time and you agree to be bound by such modifications, alterations or updates. The terms “CIBC” and “we” refer to Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and its affiliates.

  1. Use of the Site: In order to use the Site, you agree, represent, and warrant that you are not on any Canadian Government list of prohibited or restricted parties and you are not attempting to access the Site from any country under sanctions by the Canadian Government. You may use this Site only for lawful purposes. Unauthorized use of CIBC’s Site and systems, including but not limited to unauthorized entry into CIBC’s systems, misuse of passwords, or misuse of any content (including visual content) or Information (“Information”) posted on a Site is strictly prohibited. Any violations may result in your access being restricted or terminated.
  2. Products and Services of CIBC: All products and services referred to on this Site are subject to the terms of the applicable agreement governing their use. These products and services are available in Canada and only in those other jurisdictions where they may be legally offered. This Site does not constitute an offer or solicitation to anyone in any jurisdiction in which such an offer or solicitation is not authorized or to any person to whom it is unlawful to make such a solicitation.

    1. Certain names, words, titles, phrases, logos, icons, graphics, designs, or other content (including copyright-protected content) on the Site are subject to intellectual property rights (including trademark protection) and are owned by CIBC or by third parties and are used under licence by CIBC or its subsidiaries.
    2. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, trademarks owned by CIBC include the following: “CIBC”, the CIBC Logo, “Ambitions Made Real” and other trademarks including those comprised of “CIBC” or “Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce”.
    3. Other trademarks of CIBC include those found at Trademark.
    4. Nothing on this Site shall be construed as conferring any licence of any intellectual property rights, whether by estoppel, implication or otherwise. The Information is for your personal use, provided such use includes a reference to the respective copyright or trademark notice or attribution as denoted on the pages copied. Except when otherwise stipulated, the Information may not otherwise be copied, displayed, distributed, downloaded, licensed, modified, published, reposted, reproduced, reused, sold, transmitted, used to create a derivative work or otherwise used for public or commercial purposes without the express written permission of CIBC.   12. Chat: CIBC may make an interactive online chat service available to you. CIBC makes no warranty that the chat service will be available at any particular time or be free of fault or error. During your use of the chat service, you may interact with a bot, chatbot, virtual assistant, virtual concierge, or other non-human (each, a “Chatbot”). We will disclose the use of the Chatbot to the extent required by applicable law. When engaging with CIBC through use of the chat service, be advised that chats will be monitored and retained. The chat service is provided as a convenience. Participating in the chat service does not constitute consent by you or us to use electronic records and signatures as a substitute for written documents. Any personal information shared with us when using the chat service shall be subject to the applicable privacy-related policies and notices described above.

Enforceability: If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall be unimpaired and the unenforceable provision will be deemed to be restated to reflect as nearly as possible the original intention underlying the unenforceable provision. CIBC can delay enforcing any of our rights under these terms or in connection with the Site without losing them. We will not be deemed to have waived any of our rights. 
  14. Applicable Law: Except where prohibited by the laws of your jurisdiction, this site will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to the principles of conflicts of law.
