Charles Martel

Charles has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He leads CIBC Private Wealth and Wood Gundy’s operations for the Quebec Region. 

He’s responsible for building and implementing strategies to meet the needs of wealthy individuals and families. Under his leadership, advisory teams strive to deliver tailored and integrated wealth planning solutions to high-net-worth clients. This includes intergenerational wealth transfers, cash management, credit and investment solutions, trust services and financial planning. 

Prior to this role, Charles was Executive Director for Wood Gundy’s Quebec Region. He has also held the Branch Manager position for the Ville Marie branch and its Sherbrooke and Joliette sub-branches. 

Charles has a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science from Université de Sherbrooke and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Université de Laval. He also holds an insurance license from the Autorité des marchés financiers. Charles is very involved in the industry and has served on the board of the Quebec Chapter of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) for 8 years, including 2 years as President.

Charles lives in Montreal where he supports a number of causes. Two charities that are dear to him include: Fondation Charles Bruneau, whose mission is to give children with cancer the best chances of recovery by financing research and projects; and Fondation des Camps Odyssée, which promotes and provides education and training to disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children.
