The CIBC Mobile Payment App is a convenient and secure way to pay for purchases of up to $100 with your credit card using only a smartphone.

All your mobile purchases are tracked on your CIBC credit card statement and can also be viewed by using the CIBC Mobile Banking App so it’s easy to keep an eye on your spending. Plus, if you have a CIBC rewards credit card, the more you use the App for your purchases, the more rewards you'll earn.

Where can I use it?

Just about everywhere. The CIBC Mobile Payment App is accepted at thousands of locations across Canada, the United States and overseas. Any terminal that accepts VISA payWave® or MasterCard PayPass™ will also support transactions with the Mobile Payment App.

The CIBC Mobile Payment feature is available on all Canadian
CIBC personal and small business credit cards.
If you don't have one, apply for one today so you can start
enjoying the convenience and security of the CIBC Mobile Payment App.

  • The ability to lock the CIBC Mobile Payment App with an optional passcode
  • Cardholder protection from unauthorized transactions1
  • Trusted encryption technology for protecting your credit card information on the smartphone's chip

How do I set up the App so it works with my CIBC credit card?

Once you’ve downloaded the App to an eligible smartphone (please ensure you have the most recent software update for your phone before downloading), open it, select Register Now and accept the Terms of Service to begin.

Complete the App set-up

Select Call Now to connect with a CIBC Telephone Banking Representative who will set up your mobile account and provide you with instructions to complete the App set-up.
Your mobile credit card information will be downloaded to your phone. You will receive a notification message to your smartphone when the download has been completed.
To complete the set-up, re-open the App. You’ll be prompted to create an optional 5-digit personal passcode should you want additional protection. To set a passcode, enter the passcode and then select save. Then re-enter your passcode and select confirm to verify it. You can also bypass setting an App passcode altogether. Should you change your mind later, you can set one up via the Settings Menu. After setting your passcode preference, you will be ready to start using the CIBC Mobile Payment App to make purchases.
