Questions about the transition to your CIBC card?

What do I have to do to prepare for this change?

Familiarize yourself with the benefits that CIBC and your replacement card have to offer. Until your replacement card arrives, continue to use your CITI card and make payments.

When will I receive my CIBC card?

CIBC will be sending out cards between September 1 and December 31, 2011, but the benefits associated with your card will be available to you as of August 19, 2011. You may start to receive CIBC statements prior to receiving your card.

Any balance on your CITI account will transfer to CIBC and your CIBC account will open on August 19, 2011. The terms and conditions of your CIBC account will take effect at that time.*

You’ll begin to receive CIBC statements starting in August or September, even though you haven’t received your CIBC card.

You will receive your new PIN in the mail shortly after you receive your card (ensure your PIN is kept confidential). Your PIN is your new signature.

What steps do I need to take once I receive my CIBC card in the mail?

As soon as you receive your CIBC MasterCard Card, call the number on the sticker on the card to activate it, then destroy your CITI card(s). Shortly after you activate your CIBC card, you and any authorized users on the account will no longer be able to use your CITI card(s).

What if I have authorized users on my account?

CIBC will transfer existing authorized users to your CIBC account and their cards will be ready to use when you activate your CIBC card. Each user on the account will have a unique card number and will receive his/her own Personal Identification Number (PIN).

How does this affect my payments?

Statements:
After August 19, you will start to receive statements from CIBC. You should start to make payments to CIBC for amounts owing on your CIBC statements.

Automatic Payments:
If you registered for the Citipay®1 service, we will transfer this to CIBC Auto Pay, a comparable service that automatically debits CIBC Credit Card payments from a personal bank account, effective on your first CIBC statement’s due date. If you set up the Fixed Payment option with CITI, this will change to the Minimum Payment Option at CIBC (the minimum payment due is automatically debited). If you would like to change your payment to Full Payment (the full payment owing is automatically debited), please contact CIBC as of August 22.

Bill Payments:
If you pay your bills through telephone banking or online banking, update your payee list to reflect “CIBC MasterCard” to ensure seamless bill payments. As of August 22, you can register for Online Banking.

Pre-Authorized Payments:
As soon as you activate your CIBC card, you should notify the merchants of the change to your card provider, card number and expiry date so that your pre-authorized payments will continue.

Who can I contact if I have more questions?

Feel free to call CIBC at 1-877-433-1908.

PETRO-POINTS may not be credited if your MasterCard account is not in Good Standing or is overlimit; also, if your MasterCard account is not in Good Standing, previously credited PETRO-POINTS may be removed from your PETRO-POINTS account. PETRO-POINTS partners, rules and regulations are subject to change without notice. For more information please refer to www.PETRO-POINTS.com.
