Trademarks and disclaimers
Drivers Edge rebates are earned on card purchases less returns, and not on cash advances, regular Convenience Cheques or Balance Transfers, fees, interest, and payments. Rebates are awarded only if your credit card account is in good standing on the statement date; otherwise they are cancelled. See Program Terms (90 KB) for full details, including what qualifies as an eligible vehicle.
CIBC Bonus Rewards apply only if the card is used for payment at participating establishments. The number of restaurants offering an additional 3% rebate will vary from time to time. Some restrictions may apply. Please visit www.cibcbonusrewards.com for full terms and conditions. CIBC Bonus Rewards cannot be combined with other promotional offers and may not be valid with certain discounts or offers. CIBC Bonus Rewards Terms, Conditions and participating merchants may change without notice. The CIBC Bonus Rewards Program is operated by Advantex®3 Marketing International Inc.
Insurance coverage(s) included with CIBC credit cards is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada (RSA). Different cards will have different coverage(s). To learn about included insurances, and important information regarding coverage eligibility requirements, benefits, limitations and exclusions, see www.cibc.com/ca/credit-card/agreements-insurance.html and the insurance certificate(s) in your card package. Some insurance(s) require purchases, auto rentals, common carrier fares and other trip costs to be charged to the card to activate coverage (other conditions may also apply). Auto Rental Collision/Loss Damage Insurance (CLDI) is for rentals up to 48 days; and the rental must be charged to the card and the rental agencys Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) must be declined. CLDI provides coverage up to the actual cash value (ACV) of the rental vehicle as defined in your insurance certificate. Note that some car rental companies may assess their damages at an amount greater than the ACV of the rental vehicle and you may be liable to the car rental company for the difference. Therefore, before declining the car rental companys CDW or LDW, you should read carefully and compare the terms of the car rental agreement, the CLDI insurance certificate in your card package and any other insurance you own to decide which coverage best meets your protection needs. Certain RSA coverage(s) are excess insurance (all other sources of insurance and recovery must be exhausted before benefits are available). For more information, call RSA toll-free at 1-866-363-3338 in Canada, continental U.S. and Hawaii or collect from elsewhere at 905-403-3338.
Additional purchasing power over your credit limit does not mean unlimited spending. Each transaction is assessed on various factors including your payment history and spending patterns so as to determine your additional purchasing power over your credit limit, if any. Since you must repay any amount over your credit limit by your payment due date, your borrowing capacity is not increased and remains at your credit limit.
You must provide proof of valid Canadian property and liability insurance on the vehicle. See Program Terms for full details.
Convenience Cheques and cash advances bear interest from the date they are posted to your CIBC Drivers Edge World MasterCard account or taken, respectively and are subject to your available credit and available cash. Convenience Cheques and cash advances do not earn Drivers Edge rebates.
Savings between 5-25% are available off the lowest normal (non-promotional) rate on qualifying rentals. Must quote AWD #C277500 or BCD #A748703 at time of reservation at participating Avis locations worldwide or Budget locations in Canada and the U.S. and charge the rental to your CIBC credit card. (Quebec residents may obtain the discount without using their card, provided they show the card when paying by an alternative acceptable payment option). The discount received depends on fleet availability, location, type of vehicle rented and seasonality. Discounts apply to time and kilometre/mileage charges only. Standard rental conditions apply.
Interest rates will change from time to time on at least 30 days prior notice to primary cardholders. "Cash" means cash advances, balance transfers and Convenience Cheques.
The Primary Cardholder may assign and change the Authorized User Spending Limits (or Spending Limits) on the Credit Card Account to any or all Authorized Users by contacting CIBC. The "Card Spending Limits - Cash" is a limit which falls within the "Card Spending Limits - Purchases" and is not additional credit beyond the "Card Spending Limits - Purchases". The Authorized User Spending Limits that the Primary Cardholder may assign to any one Authorized User at any one time cannot exceed the Credit Limit for the Card. CIBC reserves the right to make adjustments to the Authorized User Spending Limits for any and all Authorized Users at any time following a decrease in the Credit Limit and Cash Limit of the Card. "Cash" refers to Cash Advances, Convenience Cheques and Balance Transfers. Capitalized terms used herein have the meaning given to them in the Cardholder Agreement.
