Planning Your Trip

Planning your vacation shouldn't be a chore. So we've made our Travel Centre a one-stop shopping centre for your vacation needs.

Booking your trip

You can start by booking your transportation and accommodations through CIBC VISA* Travel Service. While booking your trip, we search for the best deals and offer you the lowest price, guaranteed. And when you pay with your CIBC Gold VISA Card, you get 5% off all eligible travel expenses (excluding scheduled airfare).

After booking your trip

Now that you have booked your trip, it's important to protect your investment. If you are forced to cancel your trip, you may have to pay cancellation penalties charged by the airline. CIBC Trip Cancellation / Trip Interruption Insurance can protect you from these unexpected costs.

Other travel mishaps can occur, and CIBC wants to ensure that you have the full protection you need. Our Comprehensive Travel Insurance Plan combines several types of travel insurance coverage into one convenient package.

Buying travel medical insurance

Travel medical insurance can protect you and your family in case of medical emergencies. It's easy to purchase, and the peace of mind is worth the expense. CIBC Travel Medical Insurance offers you comprehensive emergency medical coverage, as well as the advantage of CIBC Travel Assistance.

Being fully covered

For your convenience and added peace of mind, CIBC Insurance has combined both CIBC Travel Medical Insurance and CIBC Trip Cancellation/Trip Insurance into one economical easy-to-use package. Our CIBC Comprehensive Travel Insurance offers the benefit of protecting the money you have invested in your trip in case of an unexpected cancellation, as well as the medical emergency coverage you might need during your travel.

Customizing your travel insurance

We know that not everyone's travel plans are alike. Therefore, CIBC Insurance offers many competitive rates based on 1 traveller, 1 traveller with dependent children, 2 travellers with dependent children, or 2 travelling companions.

You can also choose from a Single Trip Plan (up to 212 days) or a flexible Multi-Trip Annual Plan, which covers an unlimited number of trips per year (with a maximum duration of 15 or 31 days per trip, depending on the coverage selected).

Are you a snowbird?

You'll receive special discounts if you are age 55 or older and travelling for 23 days or longer. You can apply for the Snowbird Plan by answering simple health-related questions, usually right over the phone.

Receive written guarantee of coverage

If you are a traveller age 75 or older, or a traveller of any age with a pre-existing medical condition, you can also apply for coverage by simply calling one of our Travel Insurance Specialists and answering simple health-related questions to get you started.

It's easy to apply

Just call one of our Travel Insurance Specialists at 1-800-281-9109 to get the coverage you need. And don't forget to ask about our Baggage/Personal Effects and Rental Vehicle Damage Insurance.
