How do I fill out the form?
To enter your Cash Flow information, complete each field that pertains to your company. If a field does not apply to your company, leave it blank.
What should I enter in "Other"?
You should enter any other incoming or outgoing cash that is not covered in the current fields.
Glossary
Advertising
The amount you spend on radio spots, print ads, websites and other media to promote your business.
Cash
Money that is immediately available to you, examples would be: bank accounts and currency.
Cash Sales/Revenue
The amount paid to your business through sales of goods and services. Cash Sales/Revenue can include payment by credit card, debit card, currency and cheque.
Collection of Accounts Receivable
Cash that your business has received on amounts owed from credit extended to your clients.
Bank Charges
The amount your business pays in fees for services received from your financial institution.
Dividends
The amount a business pays to shareholders.
Employees' Benefits
The amount your business pays for staff to receive benefits like health insurance or pensions.
Financing
The amount of money borrowed from an outside source to help run your business.
Goods and Services
The amount paid to suppliers for goods and services.
Incoming
The amount of cash coming into your business.
Issuance of Shares
The amount of cash generated from the issuing of new shares in your business.
Insurance
The amount your business pays for premiums and deductibles to an insurance company like rental, vehicle or malpractice insurance.
Interest
The amount your business pays on any outstanding interest bearing loans.
Interest Revenue
The cash your business receives from any interest bearing investments you've made.
Inventory purchases with Cash
The amount paid for inventory purchased from suppliers to support the day-to-day operation of the business. Inventory includes raw materials, goods in the process of being manufactured and finished goods for resale.
Loans/Lines of Credit Principal Repayments
The amount of principal you pay back to your lenders for business financing.
Net New Loans
New loans that have not yet been utilized.
Operations
Refers to the cash spent and received from day-to-day business activities, such as sales, rent and utilities.
Outgoing
The amount of cash you pay towards expenses for your business.
Owner's Drawings or Salaries
The amount you pay yourself as salary.
Purchase of Equipment or Land
The amount paid for purchasing equipment or land for your business.
Purchase of Investment
The amount spent on any investments your business has made.
Purchase of Shares
Cost associated with the re-purchase of shares by the company of existing shareholders.
Rent/Lease/Mortgages
The amount paid by your business for use of rented, leased or owned property, such as buildings, furniture, vehicles and mortgage payments.
Salaries
Wages, benefits and other compensation paid by an employer to employees.
Sale of Property or Assets
The amount earned from selling property or assets owned by your business.
Sale of Investments
This is the amount earned from selling investments owned by your business.
Shareholder Cash Injection
The amount of cash invested in your business by shareholders.
Starting Cash
Business cash on hand at the beginning of the month.
Tax
The amount of money charged by different levels of government for public services.
Utilities
The cost of a commodity or service such as water, electricity or gas that is provided by a public or private utility.
