Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure

On September 30, 2007, 170,000 Canadians in 53 communities across Canada walked and ran together in an effort to create a future without breast cancer. Members of Team CIBC raised more than $2.7 million in support of this year’s Run, and helped raise a grand total of $26.5 million.

CIBC employees across the country have been passionate about the Run since the very beginning. In 1997, CIBC became the Run’s title sponsor. We remain proud of this role and our long-standing partnership with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Established in 1986, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading national volunteer-based organization in Canada dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation works collaboratively to fund, support and advocate for:

• Relevant and innovative research
• Meaningful education and awareness programs
• Early diagnosis and effective treatment
• A positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer

Through the funds raised by the annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, other special events, corporate sponsorship and donations, the Foundation has allocated millions of dollars in grants for breast cancer projects and services since its inception.
