B.C.'s Children's Hospital Foundation

For over a decade, CIBC employees have shown a remarkable commitment to the B.C.'s Children's Hospital Foundation. To date, they've raised more than $2 million to purchase much-needed equipment and fund lifesaving research.

As the largest full service pediatric health centre and the only pediatric tertiary care hospital in British Columbia and the Yukon, the hospital annually receives more than 157,000 patient visits. It treats sick and injured children between birth and 16 years of age from more than 200 communities across the region.

To ensure it can continue as a leader in children's health, the foundation has recently launched a $150 million capital campaign, to which CIBC committed a corporate contribution of $750,000.

Our employees pitch in

CIBC employees from the B.C. and Yukon region lent their support once again with a recent fundraising effort that contributed over $230,000 to the foundation.

Wendy Slavin, CIBC's Senior Vice-President, Branch and Small Business Banking, B.C. and Northern Territories, announced the corporate and employee gifts at the hospital's weekend telethon on June 1, 2003 in Vancouver. Slavin also served as the volunteer chair of the telethon, which raised an impressive total of $7.5 million.
