Youth

Regent Park Community Health Centre, Ontario

CIBC's donation over 3 years will help to support two mentor groups of The Pathways to Education Program. This highly successful initiative is helping to break the cycle of poverty and youth unemployment in Toronto's Regent Park by encouraging neighbourhood children to stay in school.

Air Cadet League of Canada, Saskatchewan

The Air Cadet League provides young people aged 12 to 18 with the opportunity to participate in summer training courses, international exchange visits, and survival training. It is a free program that enables young adults the opportunity to participate in activities not normally offered in traditional school programs.

Dans la rue, Quebec

Montreal priest Father Emmett Johns, known affectionately as Pops, has been taking his van to the streets 5 nights a week for the past 14 years. Each year, he distributes close to 10,000 emergency food bags to street kids. At his day centre, Dans la rue, Father Johns also offers educational, work, drug abuse and scholarship programs for young people aged 12 to 24. CIBC proudly supports Father Johns' work in the community.

Green Thumb Theatre Company, British Columbia

CIBC provides funding towards the production of educational plays for young audiences dealing with issues such as self-esteem, bullying, youth poverty, literacy and health issues. The group tours over 100 communities performing more than 150,000 plays every year.
