Every year, CIBC is recognized by a variety of organizations for its business successes, community commitment, employee initiatives and other achievements. The following awards speak to the dedication and commitment of our employees.

 

2008

CIBC among Canada’s best employers for new Canadians for 2008

CIBC has been selected by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) as one of Canada’s “Best Employers for New Canadians for 2008.” The award recognizes recipients for leading their peers in creating a workplace that welcomes new Canadians and allows them to make the most of their skills, education and talents.

 

2007

The Canadian Society for Training and Development recognizes CIBC for internal learning excellence

CIBC was recognized by the Canadian Society for Training (CSTD) with a Gold Canadian Award for Training Excellence in Internal Learning. Specifically, CSTD judges cited CIBC's Internal Control Repository (ICR) Learning Program for its overall value to employees, and concluded that "the ICR Learning Program could be used as a model for blended learning."

 

Forrester Research Inc. ranks CIBC’s client website the strongest overall

CIBC’s client website, www.cibc.com, received the highest score in 2007 when comparing the overall scores of two separate studies conducted by Forrester Research Inc. in 2007.

 

Renaissance Investments wins two Canadian Investment Awards

Renaissance Investments took home two top honours at the 13th Annual Canadian Investment Awards. For the 5th consecutive year, the Renaissance Global Health Care Fund won in the category of Healthcare Equity Fund. In the category of Canadian Income Trust Fund, the Renaissance Canadian Monthly Income Fund took top honours.

 

Service Quality Management Group Inc. recognizes CIBC Telephone Banking IVR with customer satisfaction award for a third time

CIBC Telephone Banking won an award for its Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. The IVR has received the highest customer satisfaction rating in the 2007 Service Quality Management (SQM) Group Inc. Contact Centre Awards Program. CIBC also won this award in 2004 and 2006.

 

Two CIBC Executives named among Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada

CIBC’s Sonia Baxendale, Senior Executive Vice-President, Retail Markets and Jackie Moss, Executive Vice-President Human Resources, are included in the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network.

 

CIBC recognized by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce with a Healthy Business Award

The Halifax Chamber of Commerce recognized CIBC with a Healthy Business Award for its leadership and commitment to workplace health in the Halifax business community.

 

Canadian Immigrant Magazine recognizes CIBC as a Top Employer for Workplace Diversity

CIBC was recognized by Canadian Immigrant magazine in its October 2007 issue as one of 2007’s Top Employers for Workplace Diversity. CIBC was one of five organizations, and the only financial institution, chosen from a list of nominees by an independent panel of business and human resources experts.

 

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) recognizes CIBC for its approach to climate change disclosure

CIBC was recognized as “Best in Class” for its approach to climate change disclosure in a report by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a coalition of 315 global institutional investors and asset managers representing more than $41 trillion in assets.

 

CIBC named to FTSE4Good Index

The FTSE4Good index is used by socially responsible investors who want to invest in companies that demonstrate exceptional corporate responsibility practices. CIBC has been included in the FTSE4Good since its inception in 2001.

 

CIBC included in Dow Jones Sustainability Index for sixth consecutive year

CIBC was selected as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), an influential benchmark for socially responsible asset managers. CIBC is one of only two Canadian banks and 25 worldwide whose performance met the Index’s stringent criteria for inclusion.

 

CIBC a member of the Jantzi Social Index since 2000

CIBC has been a member of the Jantzi Social Index since its inception in 2000. The Jantzi Social Index consists of 60 Canadian companies that pass a set of broadly-based environmental, social and governance rating criteria.

 

J.D. Power and Associates ranks President’s Choice Financial best in overall client satisfaction

President's Choice Financial® was ranked highest among Canadian mid-sized banks for client satisfaction according to an independent survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. President's Choice Financial® scored 830 out of a maximum 1,000 points, the highest score for client satisfaction ever obtained in the Canadian banking industry.

 

CIBC recognized by the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance and the Institute of Corporate Directors Blue Ribbon Commission

The Canadian Coalition for Good Governance and the Institute of Corporate Directors Blue Ribbon Commission recognized CIBC for “innovative” and “best practice” executive compensation disclosure and transparency.

 

CIBC wins Sustained Success Award from the Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada

The Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada (SMCC) awarded the Sustained Success Award to CIBC and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. CIBC and the CBCF were also recognized by SMCC with an Award of Distinction in 2006 and received best in show and the top prize for Cause Sponsorship Marketing in 2005.

 

 

CIBC Asset Management wins the Lipper International Equity Award

CIBC Asset Management’s International Small Companies fund was recognized as the international equity fund of the year by the inaugural Canadian Lipper Fund Awards.

 

Bersin & Associates honours CIBC with learning and development award

Bersin & Associates recognizes CIBC with a Learning Leaders Program Award for Technology Excellence. CIBC won the award for implementing centralized regulatory compliance training for all employees. Bersin & Associates is a U.S.-based consulting firm specializing in enterprise learning and talent management research.

 

CIBC’s Regina Call Centre recognized with Contact Centre Employer of Choice Award

CIBC’s Regina Customer Contact Centre achieved the gold standard as a Contact Centre Employer of Choice (CCEOC). This designation is awarded based on employees’ feedback on their job and workplace satisfaction. 

 

GovernanceMetrics International (GMI) positions CIBC better than 98% of global banking sector peers

CIBC scored better than 98% of global banking sector peers according to GMI. GMI’s rating system assists institutional investors in evaluating the quality of a company’s corporate governance and the impact that governance practices, plus certain environmental and social risk factors, may have on fund returns.
