How to Bank with CIBC

CIBC makes everyday banking fit into any day's schedule. No matter how busy things get, banking can be as easy and convenient as you need it to be. At CIBC, you choose when and how you want to bank. If you're based at home or in an office, take advantage of Online or telephone banking. If you're often on the go, use a CIBC bank machine. If you prefer to talk to someone face-to-face, come into one of our branches. Choose to bank any way, all ways... at CIBC.

The Convenience Card™ - your key to banking at CIBC

All it takes to do all your banking is one wallet-sized piece of plastic. You can access all your CIBC accounts, pay bills, transfer funds, check account balances, and re-order cheques. You can even pay for your purchases without using cash or credit. Here's how the Convenience Card works:

  • The number on your card lets you bank by telephone, computer and bank machine (you need to choose a separate password for each)
  • Attach as many CIBC accounts as you want - chequing, savings, your credit card...even a business account
  • Joint accounts that are set up as "either to sign" can also be attached (i.e. any account holder can authorize all transactions)
  • For bill payments, you only need to register your bills once in order to pay them any way you want
  • Make purchases without cash or credit using INTERAC*

Choose the ways that work for you

Once you have your Convenience Card, you can bank any way you wish at CIBC. Choose the way – or ways – that appeal to you the most.

  • CIBC Online Banking - Use your computer to do your banking.
  • Telephone banking – Wherever there's a phone, you can connect to a full range of CIBC banking services.
  • CIBC bank machines – Do all your banking in minutes - or seconds - at a CIBC bank machine.
  • INTERAC Direct Payment - Pay for your purchases without carrying cash or using a credit card.
  • Banking at a branch - Friendly, knowledgeable service at any CIBC branch.
  • Wireless banking - now you can access CIBC Online Banking from your mobile web-enabled phone or PDA.
