Cash and cheque deposits can be made through branch representatives. Keep in mind that deposited cheques may be subject to a hold period. You can review the CIBC Hold Policy on Cheque Deposits online.
If you are depositing funds into a third party account, please ensure that you have the transit and account number. For privacy reasons, branch representatives cannot look up a third party account number without the consent of the account owner.
Withdrawals can also be made in most currency denominations through a branch representative. If you require a large sum in a foreign currency, you can place an order in-branch approximately 10 days prior to the date you require the funds.
Traveller's cheques, bank drafts and money orders can also be purchased in-branch.
To make a deposit or withdrawal in Canadian funds, you need:
- Any cheques or cash you wish to deposit
- Your Convenience Card or account information
