How to Use Your New CIBC Convenience Card

CIBC Convenience Card Transactions
When you conduct a bank transaction at the bank machine, use your new chip Convenience Card with your existing PIN (Personal Identification Number) as you do today - no further action is required.

When you make store purchases at debit terminals where chip technology is available, instead of swiping your CIBC Convenience Card, you'll follow these simple steps:

  1. Insert chip Convenience Card into the terminal, chip end first
  2. Leave the card in the chip terminal for the duration of the transaction
  3. Enter your PIN to authorize the transaction

You can continue to use your new chip Convenience Card with your existing PIN to conduct all your usual banking transactions as you do today.

Your old Convenience Card will be deactivated after your first use of the new card. You should destroy your old card immediately.
