Can anyone else get access to my accounts?
Banking at a bank machine is very secure. No one but you can access your accounts. All banking payment transactions at bank machines require that you use your bank card along with your secret code. As long as you keep your secret code a secret, no one can get access to your accounts, even if your card is lost or stolen.

-
What is that green device on the bank machine?
It's a new card reader designed to prevent information from your bank and/or credit cards being obtained through illegal devices or practices at a bank machine. It's an extra step we've taken to ensure your privacy is protected.

-
How can I be sure the new card reader is the real thing and not an illegal device?
A validation sticker will be attached to the bank machine to let you know the new card reader is authentic. If you still have concerns, talk to a branch employee.

-
How does the new card reader affect my banking?
Your cards and banking transactions will be better protected but the device itself will not affect the way you do your banking.

-
What if I use the wrong secret code?
Not a problem. The bank machine will tell you that you have entered an invalid secret code and ask you to try again. For your protection, if an incorrect secret code is entered repeatedly, your card will be rendered inactive. Your card will be returned to you and the transaction will end. You can reactivate your card at your nearest CIBC branch.

-
What if my card is lost, stolen or retained by the bank machine?
A phone call will set it right. Just notify the nearest CIBC branch immediately, or call 1-800-465-2422.

-
How much money can I withdraw at once?
You can withdraw as little as $20 or as much as $1,000 a day from a CIBC bank machine, depending upon your available funds and your daily withdrawal limit.

-
Can I change my withdrawal limit?
Just visit your nearest CIBC branch or call 1-800-465-2422 and one of our Customer Service Specialists will be pleased to talk about your individual financial requirements.

-
Will I get a receipt or acknowledgment of my transaction?
Yes - it's easy to track transactions. After completing your transaction, you will (depending on the type of bank machine) be asked if you would like a printed receipt. Transactions made before 6 p.m. will be recorded as having taken place that day. Transactions which take place after 6 p.m. weekdays, or on weekends and holidays will be recorded as having taken place the next business day.

-
What happens to my money after I make a deposit?
When you make a deposit at a CIBC bank machine, your transaction will be processed by our employees on the next business day.

-
Can I consolidate all my accounts on to one card?
Yes, if you have more than 3 personal accounts or more than 1 credit card account with CIBC, have account numbers in hand and sign on to Online Banking or call Telephone Banking customer support at 1-800-465-2422.

-
Do I still have to use my bill stubs to pay a bill through the bank machine?
Go paperless, if you have registered your bills on the Internet or through telephone banking, you will have access to the same list on the bank machine. It's quick and easy!
