Canderel
Annual Corporate Challenge Run for cancer research

Since 1990, on the first Friday of May, the streets of Montreal are overrun by thousands of people from corporate Montreal. The festive 4km Canderel Corporate Challenge Run is the concluding event in Canderel Group of Companies' annual cancer research fundraising campaign. Proceeds are donated to research at the McGill Cancer Centre and the Montreal Cancer Institute.
Canderel believes in leadership by example. Employees can use their work hours to pursue and coordinate their own Corporate Challenge activities. Canderel measures its success in participation as well as dollars raised - which is the key to its community spirit. Last year alone, over 250 Montreal companies joined in the fundraising. For its outstanding efforts, CIBC Commercial Banking awarded Canderel with the 2003 CIBC "Spirit of Leadership" Community Award.
