Tips for using screen readers
Use quick access links
We've placed two links at the top of all our pages to help screen readers navigate the available content. The first link on the page - "Skip to main page content" will bring you directly to the page content, avoiding headers and navigation, while "Skip to navigation" will take you directly to the left-hand navigation to help you find the page you're looking for.
Navigate by headings
We've structured our pages so that each heading is coded in HTML so that you can take advantage of your screen reader's ability to move quickly from heading to heading.
Display Options
Using options available on CIBC.com or within your browser can optimize your display options.
Text Size for CIBC pages
You will be able to scale the text size of pages using the text icons located on the bottom left-hand side of available pages. This will increase or decrease the size of the main text on the current page and save the information you select to display your screen preferences on subsequent visits.
Change Contrast
To change contrast on any available pages within CIBC, you can select from "Normal" or "High" on the bottom left-hand side of the page.
Text size within your browser
A zoom feature is now included within both Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox which will allow you to enlarge the whole browser window. To do this, press "Ctrl" and "+" to increase the zoom and "Ctrl" and "-" to decrease the zoom.
